Personal Data Protection Notice

INTRODUCTION

Community-Based Action Learning Portal (“CLAP”), a resource portal developed by Persatuan Pendidikan Seni Pulau Pinang (“Arts-ED”) cares about your personal data protection. This notice clarifies how “CLAP” or “us” or “we” processes your data from the point we collect, use, share, dispose of and the security measures that we established to ensure your personal data is well protected. 

COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA 

We collect your personal data which range from your first and last name, e-mail address, phone number, occupation, your topic of interests, subjects that you are teaching if you are an educator, and your country of origin. 

SOURCE OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION 

We gather your personal data from: 

1. New member registration available at our website clap.arts-ed.my
2. Arts-ED newsletter subscription
3. Workshop registration forms 
4. Cookies 

REASON FOR PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION 

We collect your personal data for: 

1. Understanding your needs 
2. Communicating with you
3. Responding to you inquiries
4. Providing and improving our products and services to you 
5. Internal record keeping
6. Publicity and marketing purposes
7. Complying with any legal requirements; and
8. Other purposes directly related to the foregoing

PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA 

We only process your personal data within Malaysia. Your personal data will not be transferred to any place outside Malaysia.

DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL DATA 

We disclose your personal data to Arts-ED or to any third party organisations or persons providing administration (including but not limited to cloud storage and maintenance of records) or other services related to communication.

SECURITY MEASURE 

We take these measures to protect your personal data: 

1. By ensuring your personal data is kept as required by Act 709 
2. By ensuring our staff do not misuse your personal data 

Nevertheless, you are required to ensure the security of your password and not to disclose it to another party to reduce the risk of data breaches. 

PERSONAL DATA RETENTION PERIOD 

We will retain your personal data for seven (7) years / as long as you become our customer If you are no longer our customer, we will permanently delete your personal data. 

YOUR RIGHTS 

You have the rights to: 

1. Correct / update your personal data
2. Access your personal data which we process and keep with us 
3. Stop any of our new promotional newsletter sent to you 
4. Withdraw your consent for us to process your personal data with the risk of limiting your access to the content of the portal
